ShareWell Coffee Celebrates 10 Years of Roasting Coffee for Western North Carolina
Local coffee roasting company invites the community to celebrate a decade of coffee, and community on Saturday, October 3
FLAT ROCK, N.C. — ShareWell Coffee Co., a locally owned specialty coffee roaster and longtime part of the Henderson County coffee community, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this October.
To mark the milestone, ShareWell will host its 10-Year Anniversary Slam on Saturday, October 3, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its Flat Rock roastery and coffee bar, located at 2698c Greenville Highway in Flat Rock.
The community celebration will feature live music from local musicians Josh Dunkin and Lou Torchio, local vendors, Madrona’s food truck, wine and beer, and, of course, plenty of coffee.
ShareWell Coffee was founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Zach and Candice Pritz, who returned to Hendersonville with a small coffee roaster and a vision of building a company centered around exceptional coffee and meaningful community.
What began with a grassroots “roast club” and coffee roasted in shared spaces has grown into an established specialty coffee roasting company with a permanent home in Flat Rock and a network of wholesale and retail partners throughout Western North Carolina.
The road to 10 years has not always been easy. ShareWell has navigated the challenges of building a small business, the COVID-19 pandemic and, most recently, the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene on Western North Carolina. Through each season, Zach and Candice say the support of their customers, employees, fellow small-business owners and the greater Henderson County community has been one of ShareWell’s greatest blessings.
“Ten years ago, we took a leap of faith with a small roaster, a dream and a community that was willing to give us a chance,” said Zach and Candice Pritz. “Looking back now, we are overwhelmed with gratitude. There have been incredible highs, but there have also been seasons we never could have anticipated—from navigating a global pandemic to watching our Western North Carolina community endure Hurricane Helene. To still be here, roasting coffee and serving this community 10 years later, feels like an incredible blessing.”
They added, “ShareWell has never just been about coffee. It has always been about the people we get to share it with—the customers who have walked through our doors, the businesses that have trusted us to roast their coffee, our team members past and present, and the friends and neighbors who have supported us along the way. This celebration is really a thank you to all of them.”
Today, ShareWell Coffee roasts specialty coffees from around the world and serves both individual customers and a growing network of wholesale and retail partners. Its Flat Rock location houses the company's roasting and production operations alongside its pour-over and espresso bar. ShareWell also offers catering, consulting, coffee education and community events.
The October 3 celebration is intended to bring together many of the people who have been part of ShareWell’s story over the past decade—and to celebrate the Western North Carolina community that has supported the company from its earliest days.
